Apple has begun inviting ‘AppleSeed‘ members to test iCloud for Windows beta, allowing Windows users to access an iCloud Drive.

AppleSeed is Apple’s consumer testing program, which you can join with an Apple ID. It allows you to take part in tests for software before it is released generally. iCloud Drive is Apple’s cloud solution, up until now only available for iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite users (both are only available for developers to test at the moment). iCloud Drive allows you to upload files and photos, which you can access on any of your iCloud compatible devices.

iCloud for Windows Beta is compatible with Windows 7 and later, but comes with the warning that it is not recommended for ‘critical’ systems. That means you shouldn’t risk it on your primary Windows PC. As iCloud Drive is only otherwise available on iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite, this is one of the earliest looks consumers can get at the product.
