Is there a possibility that we will have a new bendgate with the ultra-thin iPad Pro?
Is it the thinnest gadget in Apple's history, will it be resistant?

The latest models of iPad Pro M4 in 11 and 13 inches measure 5.3 mm and 5.1 mm, respectively, making them the thinnest Apple products in history. And we all know what happens when a gadget is too thin.
It is likely that the company has achieved this by switching to Tandem OLED technology, which does not require its own backlight and has individual pixels, allowing Apple to reduce the overall thickness.
However, and although there is no doubt that the latest models of iPad Pro are design wonders, their additional elegance can lead to another “bendgate”, a decade later. Fortunately, an executive of the company has assured potential buyers that they have little to worry about.
The iPad Pro is built to last and resist
To answer the question, Arun Miani, who runs the YouTube channel Mrwhosetheboss, spoke with Apple’s Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, John Ternus, about the durability of the latest M4 models of iPad Pro.
In the video, which they have uploaded to Twitter, Ternus reveals that the new boards incorporate a protective cover over the motherboard. In addition to dissipating heat properly and allowing the M4 to operate at maximum performance, the metal cover provides the new iPad Pro models with greater structural integrity, raising the levels of rigidity of both models.
For those who don’t know, the infamous ‘bendgate’ controversy of the iPad gained momentum in 2018 when Apple admitted that their iPad Pro models had been shipped with a slight curvature in the aluminum chassis, and that this was due to a side effect in the manufacturing process.
The technology giant and its executives seem to trust the rigidity of the iPad Pro M4 line despite the reduction in thickness. However, as always, there will always be some curious content creators who are eagerly waiting to put Apple’s claims to the test.
It will be interesting to see how the 13-inch version holds up in various bending tests, as larger tablets have a higher failure point due to their larger surface area. Hopefully, Apple’s new approach will help improve the durability of their latest products.
