Life and Beyond: this is the new expansion for The Sims 4

Will Wright, creator of The Sims, explained that the game was like a “virtual dollhouse.” The main purpose of the title was to mimic daily life, to be our own personal dollhouse. However, there have always been many players who preferred to look beyond. Literally.

To meet the needs of these players, the new expansion Life and Beyond has been born, which will also be released on Halloween. The pack will include new professions, enchanted objects, achievements, and much, much more.

Regarding career paths, we will have two specific ones: soul reaping and funeral staff. The first will make the dream of many simmers come true, becoming The Grim Reaper. At the highest levels, we can even determine which souls to harvest. If you prefer to be funeral staff, you can choose between two branches, thanatopraxy or funeral directing.

Another major addition is the new suburb Ravenwood, which features three new neighborhoods, Crow’s Crossing, Whispering Valley, and Howling Vale. Life and Beyond will allow us to commune with the souls of deceased sims until they can resolve their affairs. You can also make wishes and investigate ancient shrines.

Each area will feature a mysterious merchant who will sell us haunted items and, in addition, will help us choose where we want to rest eternally with the promotion of coffins.

In this expansion, we will also see the journey of each Sim’s soul, with a reward system that combines their aspirations and desires. If we meet the objectives, the Sim can be reborn with the special trait Burning Soul.

When creating a sim, we can give them the aspiration Ghost Historian. We will also have the option to receive the reward trait Ghost Whisperer or try out the new three traits: Macabre, Death Haunted, and Skeptic. As expected, sims have a new way to die by a flock of crows.

Those players who purchase the expansion between October 3 and December 12, will receive several additions such as the Timeless Yesteryear portrait, the Melancholic Melodies music box, and the Feathered Elegance mask.
