We saw the first images of a new Google Maps last week, and now new images have surfaced after the new web version briefly went online. They reveal a new full screen mode and and the Cards that were introduced with Google Now.

As well as a new cleaner interface, Google Maps will be more personalized with smarter search results based on your maps history and Google+ activity. Google Earth images are also being integrated (in the browser version at least), including the flight search, and improved transportation comparisons. The images show that the new service will be rolled out gradually, as you’ll have to ask to be invited. We don’t know how quickly this will happen, or how many of the new features will quickly come to the mobile versions of Google Maps.

Last week we saw how the old sidebar was being removed from Google Maps, and some of the new fonts and colors. It looks like Google are quietly adding the cleaner look of Apple’s iOS Maps app, without losing their superior data and search functions.

Stay tuned for more Google news later today from the I/O conference.
