And finally we had the awaited Nintendo Direct on February 8, 2023. The Japanese company has presented a lot of news for all audiences, each one more varied. Most of the titles that were expected for the event have been presented; however, we have had some surprises worth mentioning.

At Softonic we are going to list those releases that we think need separate blocks. We will then list the rest. Of course, all of them will be announced in the 40 minutes of the show.

Pikmin 4

The tension to know when Pikmin 4 will be released is over. Nintendo has announced that the game will be released on July 21, 2023. During the presentation, the Japanese have shown a lot of gameplay footage, enjoy!

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC

This coming February 16 we will have with us Volume 3 of the downloadable content for Xenoblade Chronicles 3. This will feature Masha, a new heroine that will be accompanied by updates for the game with roguelike elements, new heroes, special abilities and exclusive outfits.

Game Boy and Game Boy Advance on Nintendo Switch

One of the biggest bragging rights of the show. Nintendo has finally released Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games on the Nintendo Switch Online subscription system. Game Boy will be in the base service (and with filters available), while Advance will come in the expansion pack. In addition, they are already available, with the particularity that the games will also have online modes where they allow it. The full list of titles is as follows (with more to come in the future, according to Nintendo):

Game Boy Games:

  • Tetris.
  • Super Mario Land 2 – 6 Golden Coins.
  • The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX.
  • Gargoyle’s Quest.
  • Game & Watch Gallery 3.
  • Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare.
  • Metroid 2: Return of Samus.
  • Warrior Land 3.
  • Kirby’s Dream Land.

Game Boy Advance:

  • Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3.
  • WarioWare Inc Minigame Mania.
  • Kuru Kuru Kururin.
  • Mario Kart: Super Circuit.
  • Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap.

Metroid Prime Remastered

There were rumors about a Metroid Prime remaster, but what no one expected was that the Game Cube classic would be released… right after the presentation! It can now be purchased for 39.99 euros from the Nintendo Store. In addition, a physical edition has been announced for March 3.

The game has undergone an incredible facelift. In addition, improved controls have been added, one of the most requested demands of the original. The idea: play this classic in the best possible way.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

We were all expecting a trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, so Nintendo did not disappoint. Considering that it will be released on May 12, that is, in just three months, it was only logical that it would appear.
