Language barriers remain one of the main problems we face when navigating the Internet. One of the most important forums on the web, Reddit, wants to address the issue using artificial intelligence.
Soon, Reddit users who want to will be able to click on any post and translate it to their language instantly. This feature, which was launched in France earlier this year, is already available in Brazil and Spain, and is expected to expand to more than 35 countries. For now, Germany, Italy, the Philippines, and other Latin American countries will also enjoy this new feature in the coming weeks, according to Engadget.

This new feature will also allow users to post in their own language while the platform translates to the subforum’s set language. Unlike other platforms, the feature runs automatically and can be accessed from the app or from the browser.
The controversial agreement between OpenAI and Reddit
Reddit has faced several controversies in recent times. One of them, specifically, has also been related to artificial intelligence. The platform signed an agreement with OpenAI that allowed Reddit content to be displayed in ChatGPT and similar products.
