The Apple “Scary Fast” event is just around the corner, scheduled for October 30th or 31st, depending on the time zone. We expect new MacBook Pro models in 14 and 16 inches, as well as a new 24-inch iMac. However, there are certain rumored products that probably won’t make their debut today. Let’s take a look at what we don’t expect to see at this event.
Some M3 chips, the most professional Macs, new iPads, and a few other rumors
We don’t expect the unveiling of the 13-inch MacBook Pro with M3 chip at the “Scary Fast” event. According to Mark Gurman, while the 14-inch and 16-inch versions are ready, the 13-inch model probably won’t appear until later.
Similarly, although there are speculations about a 13-inch MacBook Air and a new 15-inch model with the M3 chip, these seem to be scheduled for release between spring and summer next year.
As for the most professional Macs, Apple already updated the Mac Pro and the Mac Studio in June 2023, so it’s highly unlikely that we will see new models before 2024. The Mac mini, which received an update to the M2 chip in January this year, is also not expected to be refreshed with the M3 chip until late 2024.
Sometimes, Apple releases new iPads towards the end of the year, but current rumors suggest that we won’t see new models of any iPad. Both the Pro model, the Air, and the Mini are reserved for spring or early summer 2024.
We also don’t expect to see a fourth-generation iPhone SE. In fact, rumors have been very inconsistent regarding this model, and its future is truly uncertain. In any case, we expect this iPhone to arrive in 2025.
There might be a cameo, a reference to the capabilities of the new Macs with the Apple Vision Pro, but beyond this, we don’t expect any updates regarding this device. The same goes for AirPods and HomePod, which are not on the schedule for this year.
And even so, there are a lot of products that Apple can surprise us with. First, because with the new Macs we can see more than we expect to see. Second, because although the rumors point to what we just mentioned, Apple may have other plans. In any case, it will be within a few hours that we will clear up doubts.
