Aptera Motors has made headlines once again by successfully completing its production-intent solar electric vehicle’s first road trip, traveling over 300 miles using a combination of an all-electric battery and harnessed energy from the sun.

Remarkably, the vehicle collected 300 watts of solar energy even before they hit the road. As the crew navigated iconic Route 66, they managed to pull in over 545 watts of solar input, showcasing the vehicle’s efficiency even under overcast skies.
This capability allowed them to reach their destination in Imperial Valley, California, without stopping for a charge, prompting numerous onlookers to capture the unique vehicle’s journey.
Aptera’s recent tests in the Mojave Desert prior to this road trip yielded “groundbreaking” results, particularly in analyzing aerodynamic, rolling, and powertrain losses.
These assessments indicated that the solar electric vehicle’s design is not only revolutionary but also practical for real-world conditions. The truck’s sleek design drew significant attention, highlighting the potential for solar technology in everyday transport.
To further celebrate the successful validation of its solar EV, Aptera is hosting a giveaway of a solar-powered prize pack valued at $800. This initiative is the company’s way of engaging with enthusiasts and promoting its cutting-edge technology. For those interested in participating, more details are available on Aptera’s website.
