It’s hard to believe that it’s been 15 years since Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy. We’ve since had Sony and Andrew Garfield take a crack at it with two “Amazing Spider-Man” films, and now Tom Holland is playing the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We’re just weeks away from “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” the final chapter of Marvel’s Phase Three.

While visual effects have come a long way since “Spider-Man 2,” good storytelling has no expiration date. The heart of a superhero story is in creating a good protagonist, and YouTuber Filmento makes a great case for how “Spider-Man 2” did just that. Check out his analysis:
