The first Superman poster makes it clear that it will be a great homage to the classic superhero movies

The Man of Steel is back and he’s flying high. James Gunn, director of the highly anticipated Superman, has just unveiled the first official poster of the movie, with an evident load of nostalgia and a slogan as iconic as it is direct: “Look up.” The poster not only anticipates the epic that is to come, but also pays homage to the classic versions of the superhero, especially those starring Christopher Reeve in the 70s.

If that wasn’t enough, Gunn has taken it a step further: the animated poster is accompanied by a version of the legendary theme composed by John Williams for the original 1978 movie. Yes, that melody that makes it impossible not to get goosebumps.

The beginning of a great universe

Even so, this is just the beginning. Gunn has confirmed that the first trailer for the movie will arrive this Thursday, December 19th, so the wait is about to end. It will be the first time we see David Corenswet in action as the new Superman, and if the poster has already given us good vibes, the trailer promises to be quite an event for DC Universe fans.

Superman, which premieres on July 11, 2025, is more than just the story of the greatest hero of all time: it is also the starting point of the new DC Cinematic Universe. And if James Gunn has managed to capture the magic that this first glimpse exudes, there is no doubt that the Man of Steel will shine again.
