It is clear that The Last of Us has been one of the biggest hits in terms of series this year. The adaptation of the popular PlayStation video game has made millions of people fall in love with its first season, hence there is much desire to know more details of the second, such as who will be responsible for playing Abby.

Ellie’s great rival in The Last of Us Part 2 is one of the most anticipated faces of the second season, especially for those who have played the game and know what’s coming next. Thanks to the Los Angeles Times we have learned that the actress to play Abby has already been chosen by the casting team, although her identity will not be revealed until the end of the historic strike that keeps the entire audiovisual sector at a standstill.

We must not forget (spoilers are coming, we warn you) that during the final chapter of the first season of The Last of Us, just when Joel enters the hospital and starts shooting all the fireflies, there is a very quick shot of a blonde girl with a braid. Everything indicates that this child is Abby, so the series gives this little nod to what is to come, which is a much harder, darker and more visceral season than the first.

Fewer infected… for a reason

One of the “complaints” of many fans about the first season was that there were not many infected in the series. Craiz Mazin, the show’s director of the series, spoke to this publication and wanted to explain why this decision was made.

“The thing is, if you put in a lot of infected, eventually it becomes normal and you get used to them, so they’re no longer scary being there all the time. If you can escape the infected 12 times, are they really that scary? If you escape them three times in nine episodes, you’ll make each of those encounters more exciting, make it like the shark in the movie Jaws,” he explained.
