Beyond Deadpool and Wolverine, the most anticipated superhero release of 2024 is none other than Joker: Folie À Deux, the sequel to the iconic film starring Joaquin Phoenix that triumphed with even an Oscar for Best Leading Actor. Now, the official trailer for the sequel has just been released, which expands the character’s universe much more than what we saw in the first teaser.

In the new trailer we can see the character of Lady Gaga; the singer will play a Harley Quinn somewhat different from what we are used to, but who will maintain the obsessive love for her favorite clown. In addition, it is clear that Joker is much more than a simple madman for Gotham; he is a martyr whom many embrace to carry out their crimes. Undoubtedly, the movie looks much more interesting than we could imagine at first glance.

Harvey Dent is back

In the trailer, other very interesting characters are also introduced. We have the first look at actor Brendan Gleeson, who will play a jailer who is closely connected to Phoenix’s Joker. But in addition, it has been confirmed, through voice, the appearance of another character that Batman fans know very well: Harvey Dent.

It seems that Dent will be essential in this sequel and will have a lot to do with the rise of the Joker in the city. However, we don’t know if he will simply appear as the district attorney or if at some point he will become the feared Two-Face. If so, we could be facing again the duo that became the best part of The Dark Knight, so far the best Batman movie in history.

Undoubtedly, we will see the masked crusader again in this movie. And although Todd Phillips is very clear that his vision of the Joker has nothing to do with Batman, we can’t help but wonder what would happen if he faced Bruce Wayne. We have a date at the cinemas on October 4th.
