Tesla’s are becoming more and more popular. There are currently more than five million electric units rolling on American, European, Asian, Australian roads…
Elon Musk has managed to sell us the idea that a Tesla equals progress, advancement, sustainability and… status. Hence the boom that the brand has experienced, even in the pandemic came to be worth more in the stock market than brands that sell 10 times more cars than them per year.
Of course, if you have a Tesla you know that you are exposed to dangers at every turn. This brand is at the bottom of the automotive reliability according to all OCU surveys.
A dead Tesla in a McDonald’s
A girl on TikTok has sparked controversy after claiming she got stuck behind a Tesla in the drive-thru line after the car’s battery died.
In a video with more than 358,000 views, TikTok user Lisa (@lisamajor1053) shows the rear view of a Tesla outside a McDonald’s.
“So the Tesla died in the McDonald’s parking lot,” she says. “Oh, and they can’t push it out because they can’t start it. This is going to be fun.”
Tesla’s cars have some safety features to prevent the car from shutting down without warning. Just like SpaceX’s rockets.
The car sends multiple notifications to drivers warning them that their car is going to die soon. As the battery nears the end of its life, the car also starts suggesting nearby charging stations where the driver can go to recharge.
That said, if the car dies, Tesla models seem to need a charge to shift gears. Although they have a “tow mode” that allows towing the car, it seems to only work for a limited time until the remaining battery is depleted.
