The Diablo IV beta we had about a month ago left us all in love. Spread over two weekends, it gave us a great idea of what awaits us in Blizzard’s next video game, but the key is that there are still more surprises in store: there’s another beta on the way!

We tell you in Softonic all the news about it, from dates to schedules and what it will include.

When does the Diablo IV beta start?

This new test, called “The Beta is back”, will start on May 12 at 21:00 until May 14 at 21:00 (all times local time). It will be available on all possible platforms, i.e. PC, Xbox X|S Series, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 (with local co-op for consoles and cross-play and cross-progression for all platforms).

How to download the beta?

From May 10 we will be able to start downloading the beta from 21:00 Spanish time. This will allow the servers to start working two days before.

To download the beta on PC you just have to start the Battle.net client and go to Diablo IV. Right there, a drop-down menu will appear with a box that leaves no room for doubt: “Diablo IV – Beta is back”. Set it to download.

As for Xbox and PlayStation, all you have to do is search for the game in each platform’s digital store and set the beta to download. It’s as easy and simple as that.

What’s new?

The idea of this beta is to be able to test again the benefits of Diablo IV. To do so, we will be able to enjoy the prologue and Act I in full with the five available classes (barbarian, druid, necromancer, rogue or sorcerer). However, there are limitations:

  • Character progress earned during the early access weekends and the open beta will not carry over to “Back in beta,” nor will character progress from this new test towards launch.
  • Players will be able to level their characters up to level 20. This does not mean game over, as skill points will no longer be earned, but they will still be able to slay demons and obtain pieces of equipment.
  • The appearance rate of legendary items has been modified to reflect the appearance rate of the launch version of Diablo IV.
  • The version of Diablo IV available during this beta will include all bug fixes and updates to date.

Ashava returns

We already said at the time that Diablo IV will have its own temporary bosses. In the previous beta we met Ashava… and now he returns for the occasion.

This creature from the Burning Hells can be fought from May 13 at 18:00 Spanish time. From that moment on, it will appear every 3 hours, until the end of May 14th at 18:00 (UK time).

Finishing with this creature will give us the Ashava’s Cry mount trophy, although there are more details to take into account in this beta:

  • Title Initial Low: you get it when you arrive at Kyovashad with a character.
  • Early Exploration title: obtained by reaching level 20 with a character.
  • Beta Wolf Pack cosmetic item: obtained by reaching level 20 with a character.
  • Mount trophy Ashava’s Cry: obtained by defeating Ashava with a level 20 character.
