If you are subscribed to EA Play or plan to try it at some point, get ready to open your wallet. The American company raises the price of its membership, which allows us to play almost all the games in its catalog.
Subscribers of the service have been notified of this increase through an email and it is clarified that the changes will take effect from May 10th. The new rates would be as follows:
- Monthly subscription of EA Play: from 3.99 euros to 5.99 euros.
- Annual subscription of EA Play: from 24.99 euros to 39.99 euros.
- Subscription to EA Play Pro: from 14.99 euros per month to 16.99 euros per month.
The subscription to EA Play allows us, among other things, to play some titles days before their release for a maximum of 10 hours. Additionally, we can also access the EA catalog at no additional cost.
On the other hand, subscribing to EA Play Pro also allows us to play a selection of titles days before their release, but with no time limit. In addition to the above, you have unlimited access to a “library of premium editions of Electronic Arts games and the most popular sagas”.

This is not the only video game service that has increased in price in recent times. In 2023, inflation also reached Sony, which increased its prices by almost 20% in total. In the case of the annual fee for PlayStation Plus Essential, it now costs 80 euros. Likewise, the annual subscription for PlayStation Plus Extra increased to 100 euros. Finally, the annual plan for PlayStation Plus Premium remained at 160 euros.
This is a highly criticized trend that most companies are following, with streaming services being the most notorious. Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney + are some services that have also raised their prices while cutting features such as the ability to share accounts or the inclusion of ads.
