There’s no doubt that Disney has had a somewhat average 2023, although it seems that things are stabilizing thanks to its streaming platform Disney Plus. Within it, movies like The Little Mermaid, which didn’t perform greatly at the box office, are finding a new life, and it appears that this will also apply to Pixar’s latest movie: Elemental.
Upon its release, Elemental was a film that didn’t generate much anticipation. It had a rather weak debut in theaters and lacked significant support in the United States. However, as weeks went by, Elemental started to pick up momentum, and it has finally made its way to streaming for an even longer life.
Is it worth watching Elemental?
Without a doubt, Elemental is a movie worth checking out if you’re a Pixar fan. Following the formula of other films like Inside Out or Soul, Elemental tells a story full of fantasy but that is perfectly understood and serves as a reflection for all kinds of audiences.
Elemental takes us to a city where different elements coexist as if they were races. Fire, water, earth, and air are personified in different characters, whose relationships among themselves are not always entirely peaceful.

Amidst this climate, a young woman made of fire, Candela, discovers she has a lot in common with another made of water, Nilo. Despite society and their families dictating that it’s wrong, both begin to spend time together, living a love story in the purest style of Romeo and Juliet.
Elemental is a classic film with a great heart and perfect for all ages. It’s one of Pixar’s most generationally resonant movies in recent years, and undoubtedly, its final metaphor is worthy and beautiful despite its simplicity.
