Ford has made a significant leap in enhancing the electric vehicle (EV) experience by fulfilling its commitment to distribute 140,000 complimentary NACS adapters, thereby enabling its EV drivers to access Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network.
This initiative follows a promise made nearly a year ago by CEO Jim Farley, who announced the collaboration with Elon Musk via social media. With the adapters now shipped, Ford EV owners can conveniently utilize over 20,000 Tesla Superchargers, marking an increase from 15,300 in just one year.
Ford’s BlueOval Charge Network, already the largest integrated public charging network in North America, boasts over 180,000 chargers across more than 50,000 locations, a remarkable 40% increase since early 2024.

Among these, the network features over 44,000 DC fast chargers, representing a substantial 53% growth from previous figures. In February 2025, Ford reported its highest first-time charge success rate, emphasizing ongoing efforts to improve the availability and reliability of its charging infrastructure.
The launch of the new Ford Fast Charging Adapter, co-developed with Lectron, is a game changer for Ford EV customers. Priced at $200, the adapter is designed to withstand the rigors of everyday use, featuring robust sealing and durable materials.
Ford even subjected it to rigorous testing, including being driven over by an F-150 Lightning, to ensure its resilience. As noted by development engineer Suzanne Robinson, the adapter was intentionally “put through the wringer” to guarantee reliability for users.
Ford’s commitment extends beyond just charging solutions. Through its “Power Promise,” the company is offering buyers a Level 2 home charger with standard installation, round-the-clock live EV support, and an 8-year, 100,000-mile battery warranty, making the ownership of an EV easier than ever. This robust initiative underscores Ford’s dedication to not just electrification, but also customer satisfaction and convenience in the growing EV market.
