  • Updated:

Season 8 is wrapping up, and this week’s challenges have a definite focus on eliminations and combat. To that end, we recommend getting these done in the Team Rumble gametype so you can respawn and have a longer match to play with. If you’re still not quite at Tier 100, don’t worry too much. Like Season 7, Season 8 is going to get some overtime challenges, so you’ll still have plenty of opportunities to grab that elusive Luxe skin.

Launch through flaming hoops with a cannon (3)

fortnite flaming hoops week 10 challenge

If you’ve jumped into the game since the challenges went live, you’ve probably already seen them: giant flaming rings are floating in the skies around the Battle Royale island. If you haven’t find one yet, head to one of the pirate outposts. The hoops are all located nearby, which means you won’t have to look far for a cannon. The tricky part is actually getting your aim right. Cannons will fire in an arc, so you’ll have to judge the distance and aim slightly high to hit your mark. It’ll probably take you several tries before you hit all three.

Harvesting challenge

This is a multi-stage harvesting challenge that tasks you with mining a certain amount of different materials over the course of a single match. The order and amounts are as follows:

  • Stage 1: Harvest wood in a single match (500)
  • Stage 2: Harvest stone in a single match (500)
  • Stage 3: Harvest metal in a single match (500)

The catch here is you can’t harvest all three materials at once; you’ll need to do so over the course of three matches to complete this challenge.

Eliminate opponents at Tilted Towers or The Block (3)

The classic elimination challenge returns. These two areas are pretty popular with players, so you should have no shortage of targets. The trick is eliminating your targets before they eliminate you. Take out three opponents to finish this one off.

Deal damage with an Infantry Rifle or Heavy Assault Rifle (500)

You’ll need to track down specific weapons for this damage-dealing challenge. Of the two guns, the Infantry Rifle will likely be easier to find, but the Heavy Assault Rifle is much easier to handle and you’ll likely finish this challenge much more quickly if you grab one. Regardless, once you deal 500 damage with either weapon you’ll be all set for this one.

Treasure Hunt

The treasure hunt challenge returns, and this one is in multiple stages. Stage 1 tasks you with finding the treasure map at Junk Junction. You can find it nestled amongst some stacks of crushed cars on the northern side of the junkyard.

Once prompted, interact with the board to reveal the map and unlock Stage 2. The location indicated is a very oddly shaped set of trenches just to the northwest of Fatal Fields. Head to the easternmost trench as marked on the map, and look for the large grey rock tucked into the corner.

Approach it to claim your Battle Star. Just remember, you can’t claim the star until you complete Stage 1 of this challenge.

Deal damage within 10 seconds of landing after using a Volcano Vent (100)

This rather interesting challenge is best finished in a crowded Team Rumble match. Simply launch yourself from a nearby Vent, and once you land, you’ll have a 10 second window to deal damage to any nearby opponents. 100 damage isn’t all that much, so you should only need a few shots to finish this challenge.

Eliminate opponents from closer than 5m away (2)

It’s time to get up close and personal. We recommend using a shotgun for this challenge. If you can, sneak right up to your opponents and give them a couple quick blasts. You’ll have to eliminate 2 opponents to finish off the week’s final challenge.

Fortnite: Season 8 Week 9 Challenge Guide

Search Chests at Polar Peak or Lonely Lodge (7)

This one should be pretty familiar by now. Simply head to either one of these locations and start popping open chests. After you open seven chests, this challenge will be complete.

Landing Challenge

Another familiar challenge, this is a multi-tiered landing challenge. Simply drop in at the locations below to finish it.

  • Stage 1: Land at Loot Lake.
  • Stage 2: Land at Lucky Landing.
  • Stage 3: Land at Salty Springs.
  • Stage 4: Land at Lonely Lodge.
  • Stage 5: Land at Haunted Hills.

Ride 3 different volcano vents without landing

fortnite season 8 week 9 volcano vents

This one is easier than it sounds, and it’s actually kinda fun. Head to the area around Lazy Lagoon and the volcano, and you’ll find tons of volcano vents clustered close together. Launch yourself skyward and deploy your glider at the height of the launch. Glide over to the closest vent (it has to be a different vent) and keep gliding until you’ve hit three vents. Once you land, this challenge will be complete.

Deal damage to opponents from below (500)

Last week we were hitting opponents from above, now we have to get down low. Being below your opponents is pretty dangerous (as Obi-Wan Kenobi  famously noted) but fortunately, you won’t have to do inflict too much damage to finish the challenge.

Eliminate an opponent in different matches (5)

While we usually recommend Team Rumble modes for elimination challenges, you can finish this one pretty easily in any mode. Just be sure to eliminate one opponent every time you jump into a match, and after five matches you’ll be done.

Dance challenge

fortnite season 8 week 9 dance ice sculptures

Easily this week’s most interesting challenge, this one has you solving riddles and dancing around the map. For part one, you’ll need to dance between three ice sculptures. The sculptures in question can be found to the southwest of Polar Peak, and were the subject of a challenge earlier in the season. Use a dance emote while standing between them to finish part one.

For part two, you’ll need to dance between three dinosaurs. Head south and follow the road out of Paradise Palms. Just past the junkyard, you’ll hit a bend in the road where you’ll find the dinos in question. Just like before, position yourself between them and hit the dance emote to finish part two.

In this challenge’s final part, you’ll need to dance between four hot springs. The hot springs area is located north of the volcano and is pretty easy to spot on the map. Head to the middle of the four hot spring pools in this arid patch of land, and do your final dance to finish the challenge. For the exact locations of each landmark, check out the map below:

Revive a teammate with a Reboot Van

fortnite season 8 week 9 reboot van

For this final challenge, you’ll need to jump into a Squad gametype. You may have noticed strange blue vans popping up around the map over the past few weeks. These are reboot vans. To use one, you’ll have to wait until one of your teammates is eliminated. After they go down, they’ll drop a reboot card. You can take this card to the nearest van to revive your teammate and complete the challenge. The vans are plentiful and easy to find, but you should be aware that you’ll have to get to the van within a set time limit to revive your teammate successfully.

Paradise Palms treasure map

This week’s first treasure hunt will take you to Paradise Palms. Land at the location in Paradise Palms marked with an X on the map above, and you should see a blank signpost. When prompted, interact with it, and a treasure map should appear.

Taking a look at the map above, you’ll be able to see that it matches up with the layout of Frosty Flights. We’ve also marked it with an X on the above map. Once you’ve completed the first part of the challenge and interacted with the map, you can head to the end of the runway at Frosty Flights to collect your Battle Stars.

Use vending machines in different matches (3)

The key to this one is mining resources. Vending machines aren’t hard to find, but do usually cost quite a bit to use. Hoard whatever resources you can, then purchase the least expensive item at a given vending machine. Do this three times and you’ll have finished the challenge.

Deal damage to opponents using at least one balloon (100)

You’ll need to take flight for this one. Grab a balloon item and then float skyward. You’ll need to get used to aiming while bouncing, but it should only take landing a few solid hits on an opponent to complete this one.

Search Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces under bridges and in caves (7)

fortnite puzzle pieces map

The next treasure hunt will have you heading to the locations marked on the map above. You’re heading under bridges and into caves to find silver puzzle pieces. They look like this:

fortnite puzzle piece

They can be a little hard to spot, but they’ll glow golden as you approach. Interact with a given piece to check it off the list, and find all seven to complete this challenge.

Phone challenge

fortnite giant phone

Time to call for takeout. Two new giant phones have been added to the map in different spots, and this challenge has you dialing different numbers on the phones to complete it. You’ll find the phones in the following locations:

fortnite phones map

The first phone you’ll need to hit is west of Fatal Fields. You’ll want to dial the number for Durr Burger, which can be found over in Retail Row. For brevity’s sake, the number is 555-0152. To dial the number, either hit the given number with your pickaxe or shoot it from a distance.

Next, you’ll have to head to the phone east of The Block and dial the number for Pizza Pit. This number is 555-0198. Easy as pie… or should we say, pizza pie?

Eliminate opponents at Dusty Divot or Lucky Landing (7)

This one should be relatively straightforward compared to the rest of the week’s challenges. Simply jump into an LTM (preferably one where you can respawn) and pick off 7 opponents at either one of the above locations.

Eliminate opponents from at least 50m away (2)

Finally, you’ll probably want to grab a sniper for this one. It’s difficult to gauge exactly how far you are from an opponent, but generally the further you can get, the better. Snipe two enemies from afar and you’ll be all set for the Week 8 challenges.

Fortnite: Season 8 Week 7 Challenge Guide

Deal damage with a pickaxe to opponents (100)

You’ll have to bust out your pickaxe and get up close and personal for this one. Each pickaxe hit deals 20 damage, so you’ll need to land a few solid hits to complete this challenge. As with any damage dealing or elimination challenge, you’ll probably want to jump into a Team Rumble match to complete this one.

Visit locations

This challenge tasks players with visiting multiple locations in the course of a single match. Here’s where you’ll need to go:

  • Visit Junk Junction and The Block in a single match.
  • Visit Pleasant Park and Dusty Divot in a single match.
  • Visit Happy Hamlet and Snobby Shores in a single match.

Visit pirate camps in a single match (3)

You’ll have to head back to the pirate camps to finish this challenge. As they’re fairly far apart, visiting three in a single match can prove a bit challenging. We recommend grabbing a vehicle of some kind before making your journey. As a reminder, here’s a map with the location of all the camps:

Deal damage to players from above (500)

fortnite season 8 high ground

Bust out your climbing shoes for this challenge, as you’ll need to get the high ground for this challenge. It doesn’t matter how far above your opponent you are, the damage will still count whether you’re atop a hill or simply jumping while shooting. You’ll have to do a fair bit of damage before this challenge is complete, however, so we recommend jumping into a match of Team Rumble for this one.

Search chests at Snobby Shores or Loot Lake (7)

fortnite season 8 chest searching

The classic chest search returns. Of the two locations, Snobby Shores tends to be a bit more out of the way so you’ll likely be able to find more unopened chests there. That said, Loot Lake is home to tons of chests, so if you’re lucky you might be able to finish this one in a single go.

Zipline challenge

fortnite zipline challenge

This unusual challenge is a two-parter that will see you hopping onto ziplines to deal some damage. Here’s what you’ll need to do:

  • Deal damage to opposing players while riding a zipline.
  • Deal damage to opposing players who are riding a zipline.

Scoring a single hit will do the job. The trick is finding opponents near ziplines; this challenge can be a bit tougher if circumstances don’t line up.

Eliminate opponents in named locations (5)

You’ll need to take out 5 opponents in different named locations for this week’s last task. As always, we recommend jumping into a Team Rumble match for elimination challenges.

Fortnite: Season 8 Week 6 Challenge Guide

Visit the 5 highest elevations on the island

The week’s first challenge is easily the most involved. You’re tasked with visiting the five highest points on the Fortnite map. A few, like the volcano, might be obvious. Others will probably take a bit more sleuthing to track down. Check out the map below for each of the locations you’ll need to head to. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you see a sign marked with the point’s exact height in meters.

  • Point 1: Pleasant Park Mountain

You can find this first location on the outskirts of Pleasant Park. It’s a tall, thin peak that you’ll be able to recognize by the circle of distinctive birch trees on top. You’ll also find some makeshift ramps and a few vehicles on top, perfect for pulling of a few stunts on the way down.

  • Point 2: The Volcano
fortnite season 8 week 6 highest points

The Volcano is the newest addition to the island’s slate of high points, and also probably the easiest to get to. Simply make your way to the top using one of the paths that wind up the slopes, or just walk on up. The slopes are fairly easy to scale on foot.

  • Point 3: Polar Peak
fortnite season 8 week 6 highest points

You’ll need to make your way through the maze of corridors and towers in Polar Peak to find this point, located atop the castle’s highest tower.

  • Point 4: The Submarine
fortnite season 8 week 6 highest points

This one is a little more tricky to locate, as this mountain can’t be scaled on foot. You’ll have to either build your way to the top of the sub, or land directly on top of it.

  • Point 5: Snobby Shores Mountain
fortnite season 8 week 6 highest points

This final point will be familiar to veteran players, as it was once home to Season 4’s villain bunker. It’s also just to the west of the unnamed mountain at Point 1. Like the Submarine, you’ll have to either build your way up or land atop the mountain to reach this point.

Visit a wooden rabbit, a stone pig, and a metal llama

This week’s second hunt tasks you with finding some rather odd animal structures scattered around the island. It doesn’t matter the order you visit them; simply walk up to the location to mark it off. Check out the map below for the exact spots you’ll be visiting.

  • The Wooden Rabbit

You’ll be able to find this wooden rabbit about midway between Snobby Shores and Haunted Hills. It’s atop a small hill and is visible on the minimap.

  • The Stone Pig
fortnite wooden pig week 6 challenges

This stone pig perches just to the east of Lucky Landing on the very edge of the map. You should explore inside during your visit: this pig usually contains a few chests and other bits of loot.

  • The Metal Llama
fortnite metal llama week 6 challenges

This metal llama is probably most familiar to players, as it’s been sitting in the same spot for at least a few seasons now. Head to the north of Junk Junction to find it.

Eliminate opponents at Lazy Lagoon and Frosty Flights (3)

As with all elimination challenges, this one is easiest to complete in a match of Team Rumble. You’ll be able to respawn so it should be fairly easy to get this one finished in a few matches. Simply head to the locations specified and pick off three opponents to finish this one off.

Search where the knife points on the Treasure Map loading screen

The week’s final treasure hunt is a classic. You’ll want to take a look at the Treasure Map loading screen, unlocked as part of this season’s Battle Pass rewards. The “knife” in question is stuck into the map between Lonely Lodge and the race track near Paradise Palms. Unfortunately, this isn’t the most precise marker, as that still encompasses a pretty large area. The exact point you should head to is marked on the map below:

fortnite treasure map knife point season 8 week 6

Once you head to that area, look for a small patch of dirt in the grass to the southwest of the former superhero mansion.

fortnite season 8 knife point

You’ll find the patch atop a small hill, and the Battle Star should appear as you approach.

Landing Challenge

The good old reliable landing challenge makes a return this week. Parachute in at the following locations in this order to complete the challenge:

  • Stage 1: Land at Fatal Fields.
  • Stage 2: Land at Lazy Lagoon.
  • Stage 3: Land at Shifty Shafts.
  • Stage 4: Land at Frosty Flights.
  • Stage 5: Land at Sunny Steps.

Use different throwable items in a single match

You’ll probably have the most luck searching chests for this one, as they more readily spawn the throwables you’ll need. Anything from a Boogie Bomb to a Stink Bomb should do the trick. Just use two different kinds to finish this off.

Get an elimination with a Flint-Knock Pistol or a Boom Bow (1)

These two weapons are a bit more niche, which means getting kills with them can be difficult. Of the two, the Flint-Knock is a bit easier to find, and can easily get a one hit kill at close range. Whichever you end up using, we recommend going after this challenge in a match of Team Rumble so you can respawn.

Fortnite: Season 8 Week 5 Challenge Guide

Deal damage with Scoped Weapons to opponents (200)

A popular challenge this season, simply grab a gun with a scope and start plugging away. A couple hits with a sniper rifle should be enough to check this challenge off the list. As usual, any combat challenges are easiest to complete in the Team Rumble game type, as enemies are plentiful and you’ll be allowed to respawn.

Search chests at Paradise Palms and Shifty Shafts (7)

fortnite week 5 challenges shifty shaft

A staple challenge, you’ll need to head to Paradise Palms or Shifty Shafts and open 7 chests to complete this one. Try to head to the location furthest from the Battle Bus’s route to avoid enemies and increase your chances of finding more unopened chests.

Complete a lap of the race track in Happy Hamlet

fortnite week 5 race track challenges

For this challenge, grab yourself a Bouncer vehicle and head over to the new race track just on the outskirts of Happy Hamlet. Roll up to the starting line and a countdown will begin. Wait for the countdown to finish, then roll along through the checkpoints. You’ll have to use the Bouncer’s grapple ability here, as a few checkpoints are floating in midair. Once you’ve made it around the course and hit all the checkpoints, you’ll have finished the challenge.

Get 15 bounces in a single throw with the Bouncy Ball toy

Another unique challenge, you’ll need to have the Bouncy Ball toy unlocked and equipped. Find yourself a small confined room with no open doors or windows. You can also simply build one with whatever materials you have on hand. Once you’re in, toss the Bouncy Ball and watch it ricochet wildly around the room. You should be able to easily hit the required 15 bounces with this method.

Shield Challenge

fortnite shield challenge mushroom

A multi-stage challenge, this one is similar to the recent Healing Challenge. Simply find and use the following items to increase your shields, and you’ll have finished the challenge.

  • Stage 1: Gain shields from Mushrooms (50)
  • Stage 2: Gain shields from Small Shield Potions (100)
  • Stage 3: Gain shields from Shield Potions (100

Use a Volcano Vent, a zipline, and a vehicle in the same match

For this challenge, we recommend jumping into a Team Rumble match. The rounds are longer and you’ll be able to respawn, which should increase your chances of using all of these items in the same round. We also recommend heading to the northwest corner of the map, in the area between the volcano and Lonely Lodge. This area is home to plenty of vents, as well as an Expedition Outpost that spawns vehicles and includes several zipline points.

Eliminate opponents at Pirate Camps

fortnite pirate camp map season 8

By now, most players are probably familiar with the ramshackle pirate camps scattered around the map. Their exact locations are marked on the map above. Head to one of them and start picking off opponents to finish this one. As per usual, with any elimination challenge we recommend finishing this one in a Team Rumble match.

Fortnite: Season 8 Week 4 Challenge Guide

Landing Challenge

The classic landing challenge is back. Drop in at the following locations to complete the challenge.

  • Stage 1: Land at Tilted Towers.
  • Stage 2: Land at Junk Junction.
  • Stage 3: Land at Retail Row.
  • Stage 4: Land at Happy Hamlet.
  • Stage 5: Land at Pleasant Park.

Use a Baller in different matches (5)

fortnite week 4 challenges baller

The Baller is a recent addition to the game’s vehicle roster. Essentially a giant hamster ball, you can use the Baller to roll and swing across the map at ludicrous speeds. As far as spawn locations go, you’ll want to look in the same spots that X-4 Stormwings spawned in Season 7. This means Expedition Outposts and Frosty Flights. Hop into a Baller over the course of 5 different matches and this challenge will be finished.

Fortnite: Battle Royale Play Now

Get an elimination with a scoped weapon and a suppressed weapon

fortnite week 4 challenges suppressed scoped

The instructions on this one are pretty straightforward. As with all elimination based challenges, this one should be easiest to do in a match of Team Rumble. Snag yourself your favorite supressed gun, like a Covert Pistol or Suppressed SMG, then grab a scoped weapon. Snipers should fit the bill. Eliminate an opponent with each weapon to complete this challenge.

Eliminate opponents at Happy Hamlet or Pleasant Park (3)

Another elimination challenge, this one should be easy to complete in a match of Team Rumble. Simply head to the above locations and start picking off enemies to finish the challenge.

Launch yourself through structures with a pirate cannon (25)

One of the wackier challenges of the season, you’re tasked with turning yourself into a human cannon ball. First, you’ll need to find a pirate cannon at Lazy Lagoon or a pirate outpost. When you approach the cannon, you’ll see a few button prompts, including one that will let you climb inside the cannon. Simply adjust your aim and fire to send yourself hurtling skyward. Aim for the nearest structures; once you’ve blown through 25 of them, this challenge will be done.

Search for buried treasure (2)

fortnite buried treasure week 4 challenges

Time to go on a treasure hunt, me hearties! Snag yourself one of the treasure map items and you’ll see a glowing beacon in the distance. Follow the map to the beacon, then mine the X on the ground to unearth a treasure chest. These chests contain several legendary items, so you’ll be able to get a leg up on your enemies by completing this challenge. Find two chests to finish this one.

Outlast Challenge

This final multi-stage challenge will task you with outlasting a certain number of enemies. Completing this one should be simple: just stay alive for as long as possible.

That’s another week in the bag. As always, be sure to check back with Softonic for the latest Fortnite news and challenge guides.
