Apps are getting bigger and bigger these days. If you add to that the fact we are increasingly using our phones for more tasks these days, including listening to music and watching movies and TV shows, you can see why our phones are often running full. We often have to delete something before we can install something new. On its own, this is a tiring process but if deleting things provides its own practical challenge, it can turn into a real downer.

The latest update to the Play Store has brought with it a new disk space status button. The new button will allow you to keep tabs on how much space you have left on your phone and will also make it easier for you to free up more space by enabling you to more easily delete the apps you have installed on your device.
To find the new feature all to have to do is head to the My Apps & Games section of the Google Play Store. Open up the Play Store and click the Menu icon in the top left of your screen. Once you’ve done that, you’ll see the button at the top of the menu. After you’ve opened it up, swipe to the right to open the Installed apps tab. Once you’ve done this, you’ll see the new status bar at the top of the screen.

To make this new feature even better for anybody who never has enough space on their phones, clicking the new disk space status bar will open up the Free up space menu. This menu makes it easier than ever to delete your unwanted apps and see how much space you will free up by doing so. The menu offers check boxes next to all the apps on your phone. Clicking them will select the app to be downloaded and at the bottom of the page, the confirm button will show the total space you’ll free up should you delete them.
