Hungry? Scrolling through your Facebook feed and someone just posted a food vid, so suddenly you’re trying to figure out what you want for dinner tonight? You might not know it, but Facebook can actually help you decide!
The reason most people don’t know about this little gem is that it’s usually tucked away under a bunch of other toolbar options. On your main feed, look over on the left. You should see a list of shortcuts and below that a cluster of features listed under explore. It’s where you’ll find options like events, groups, or fundraisers and will look something like this:
Click on that See More and suddenly you’ll see a ton more options that most people aren’t even aware of.
Among these hidden options is a cute little Order Food option. Click it and it will take you to this screen:
The list goes on for a while, so keep on scrolling until you find something that jumps out at you. Alternatively, you can filter specific types of cuisine by clicking the options on the left. Facebook does a pretty thorough job of listing any place that’s available via online order. It even says how far it is from your current location if you’ve told Facebook where you are.
Clicking on the thumbnail or the restaurant link will also take you the restaurant’s Facebook page, which is useful if you want more about them, like phone numbers, reviews, or community info.
If you’re hungry now, go ahead and click on the Order Now instead. This will take you directly through a food ordering proxy like GrubHub or ChowNow. For restaurants connected to multiple online food ordering and delivery services, a window will come up that asks which you’d prefer to use. Pick, and then it’s just a matter of placing your order.
