It is one of the most anticipated games of the year, at least for players who love the fighting genre. This 2023 is the year of fighting games, and rightly so.
If a few months ago Street Fighter 6 was released and the critics unanimously agreed that it was an almost perfect game, and in a few weeks, we will have Mortal Kombat 1 in the form of an interesting reboot, now it’s time for the closed beta of Tekken 8, the game that completes the triple crown.
For those of you who don’t know what we’re talking about, welcome to Earth, a planet that adores fighting games and has a bunch of proposals this year that are aiming for Game of the Year.
First on PS5, then on Xbox and PC
There will be two closed beta test sessions in July 2023, each lasting for a weekend. The first session is exclusive to PlayStation 5 players, while the second one is open to players on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
If you want to participate in the closed beta test, click on this link and good luck with receiving an invitation. You can sign up to be part of the beta, which allows Bandai Namco to monitor the gameplay experience so far.
“Our goal is to gather feedback on network quality and gameplay. We would greatly appreciate it if all participants could provide their opinions through an online survey that we plan to send via email after the closed network test. Your valuable feedback will serve as a reference for adjustments to the battle system,” they explain on the website.
If you gain access to the beta, these are the dates you can try Tekken 8:
Week 1, exclusive to PlayStation 5:
- Start: July 21, 2023, at 10:00 PM (Spain time)
- End: July 24, 2023, at 9:00 PM (Spain time)
Week 2, beta for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC:
- Start: July 28, 2023, at 10:00 PM (Spain time)
- End: July 31, 2023, at 9:00 PM (Spain time)
Which characters will be available for use during the beta?
The closed network test beta of Tekken 8 includes all the characters announced so far. This includes:
- Asuka Kazama
- Bryan Furia
- Hwoarang
- Jack-8
- Jin Kazama
- Jun Kazama
- Kazuya Mishima
- Rey II
- Lars Alexandersson
- Leroy Smith
- Lili De Rochefort

There is no doubt that the Tekken 8 roster is already generating excitement, but fans wonder where the heck Yoshimitsu is.
The iconic character has not been confirmed yet. However, fans hope that the space ninja will be in the main game, as he is an integral part of the story, and it would be a shame not to have him back.
