Running around in Minecraft can be tedious, especially if you want to reach a far-away destination in a matter of seconds. Fortunately, there’s a way you can accomplish this feat, even if it involves cheating. If you’re not fond of trophies or accomplishments or doing things the normal way, teleporting is the best option available.

Here’s our guide for how to teleport in Minecraft.

How to Teleport in Minecraft in 3 Fast Steps

How to Teleport in Minecraft

Before you can teleport in Minecraft, you’ll have to play with some settings. Sure, you can also use Nether portals, but it takes time and planning. Using the teleport command is a lot easy.

Step 1: Enable cheat mode

To begin, you’ll need to load Minecraft and create a new creative or survival game. In the menu settings, there’s a toggle for enabling cheats. Switch this option on before you create the new mode. Bear in mind that it disables all trophies and achievements.

Step 2: Open the chat bar

Now that you’re in your Minecraft world, you can open the chat bar to begin your teleporting experience. On Windows, you can press the “T” button for it to appear. Commands usually start with “/” before the function.

Step 3: Enter the teleport command

With the chat window open, you can insert the teleport command “tp”. Of course, you’ll need to tell the game precisely where you want to teleport to. There are also several other variables you can include.

Here’s a brief list of teleport commands you can try:

  • Teleport to destination: /tp <x> <y> <z> [yRot] [xRot]
  • Teleport facing a direction: /tp <x> <y> <z> facing <lookAtPosition>
  • Teleport facing an entity: /tp <x> <y> <z> facing <lookAtEntity>
  • Teleport a target: /tp <victim> <x> <y> <z> [yRot] [xRot]

Now you see me, now you don’t

Teleporting can be fun if you need to jump distances without actually traveling between two different regions. While it can save time, there are plenty of other fun activities to try instead. Be sure to check out our Minecraft crafting guide when you get the chance.
