There is still no date for Grand Theft Auto 6 -and that is the only reality-. Although we have confirmed a lot of data thanks to the leaks we have been receiving, either from users, former employees or specialized press, the key is that we still don’t even know if it will be called GTA 6 or what its release date is.

Despite all this, in this post we are not going to talk about rumors or hypotheses, but about what we would like to see in this GTA 6 from Rockstar Games.

Dual history at all times

The story of Michael, Franklin and Trevor enchanted us in Grand Theft Auto V for many reasons, from how different the three characters were to how their plots intertwined. However, what made it especially relevant was that we could choose one of them at any time. Unless the story required it, with the push of a button we could select a character and control him or her instantly. A marvel.

In GTA 6 we know that we will manage two characters, Lucia and Jason. Both are siblings, but with totally opposite lives: while one wants to rise to the top of a drug cartel, the other seeks to do so in the police. Being able to play them interchangeably is a must. Also, with two such different roles, the possibilities of enjoying very colorful moments seem necessary.

Not bigger, but more quality

Thanks to all the leaks we know that the adventure takes us to the Vice City of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City -that is, in the present time-. At the map level, it is not so much asked to be huge, but to have quality.

The leaks reveal that we will be facing the largest map of the saga by far. However, more does not always translate into better. At the player level, it is optimal that the areas of large cities and countryside are combined with mastery, as in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

In GTA V, for example, some areas already resented, where it gave the impression that they were placed more to fill land than for the use of it itself. Therefore, we would like it to be big, yes, but above all, we would like it to have quality. We prefer something small and very good rather than big and without substance.

A change of formula

Grand Theft Auto has been using the same narrative formula since its origins, although since Grand Theft Auto 3 it is, perhaps, the most identifiable. This has also been transferred to other Rockstar Games games such as Red Dead Redemption 2, and here comes the key to everything. The narrative formula in the cowboy game already began to suffer.

Here I enjoyed Arthur‘s adventure like a dwarf, but that does not exempt that it was seen the seams to little that one played Rockstar titles. The company has to change the formula and get closer to modern variants in open world games, as in the case of Elden Ring, where the player explores without the need to be guided at all times. Is this a breakthrough compared to what GTA proposes with so many icons on screen and so on? Yes, of course, but it could be great to have a mixed mode.

And so much for some features we would like to see in the next GTA 6. Of course we want cars, weapons and the usual hallmarks of the saga, as well as GTA Online 2, but we believe it is more important to bet on that which may be divergent from the above.
