I spy with my little eye of Sauron, LOTR content might be coming to MultiVersus

The official MultiVersus Twitter account recently tweeted something that has fans speculating whether Lord of the Rings characters are headed to the game. The tweet in question was a side-by-side comparison of two versions of the Trophy’s E.D.G.E stage. Visible in the water of the second version is something that fans say looks suspiciously like the Eye of Sauron.
Twitter user TheEnderDwonk retweeted the second image, only they zoomed in on the image to make the Eye of Sauron the focal point thereof. TheEnderDwonk accompanied their tweet with the caption: ‘You forgot to get rid of the eye of Sauron’s reflection.’
It’s easy to miss, but if you look closely, you’ll see what looks like the reflection of something massive, possibly oval and definitely orange, dancing about on the surface of the water. The most fascinating part is that all the other reflections in the water can be lined up with objects in the image, such as the massive warrior statue and the island.
Whatever is casting the Eye of Sauron-like reflection, however, is nowhere to be seen. This has led users to believe that the team behind MultiVersus is teasing something big and Lord of the Rings-themed heading to the game sometime soon.
The side-by-side comparison was accompanied by a caption that read: ‘Trophy’s E.D.G.E. is the perfect place for a game of I Spy.’ The wording of this caption coupled with the fact that the author chose to pair it with an emoji of a single eye, seems to support the idea that this might be a teaser for LOTR characters joining the incredible cast of MultiVersus.
We’ve seen leaks for MutliVersus that feature prominent characters from the Lord of the Rings franchise such as Gandalf, so a crossover of this nature would make a lot of sense. Even if you consider the fact that MutliVersus only uses IP from Warner Bros., we can rationalize the possibility of a Lord of the Rings crossover due to the ties that Warner Bros. has to the franchise, even though they don’t outright own it.
As usual, we’ll be keeping a close eye on the promotional material MutliVersus releases, such as the leak we saw for potential characters two months ago. Hopefully, something else Lord of the Rings-related slips through the cracks.
