Grounded, Obsidian’s game where you must survive in an environment where all tiny creatures become potential threats, is available for free for a limited time on Steam. Until November 16th, Grounded is fully available for you to play until the free trial ends.
This promotion for free gameplay is due to the new 1.3 update the company recently released, adding numerous novelties. To experience these firsthand, users only need to enjoy the temporarily open free trial. If you don’t have Xbox Game Pass, where the game is also available, you’ll have the chance to play it until November 16th.
Temporary free trial
Grounded has been on the market for years, having had a lengthy early access period before its official launch, during which it gained popularity among many players. However, the game has taken many steps forward since that pre-launch state. That’s why Obsidian aims to attract new players so they can enjoy the plethora of innovations that Grounded offers since the 1.3 update.
For those unfamiliar with this game, Grounded is a survival game with cooperative multiplayer options. In it, at a very reduced size, you’ll have to survive the significant dangers that a simple garden can hold if your size were reduced to no larger than an insect.
A strong asset for Microsoft on Xbox
Obsidian Entertainment is one of the numerous studios brought under Xbox’s expanding ecosystem. Obsidian, one of the companies acquired by Microsoft, boasts a history of significant titles that left a mark on the industry, such as Fallout: New Vegas or Pillars of Eternity. More recently, they’ve launched important games like The Outer Worlds (whose sequel is in the works) and Pentiment, one of the most acclaimed titles of 2022.
Looking ahead, Obsidian is already working on The Outer Worlds 2’s release. Additionally, they’re gearing up for new franchises, including Avowed, a fantasy RPG first unveiled in 2021, slated for release in 2024.
