The screen recording feature on our iPhone or iPad is very useful in various situations. It allows us to create tutorials or explanations, record our gameplay in games to share on social media, or even document an important transaction for proof. But how can we easily record it? Let’s find out.

Step 1: Activate the function in Control Center

Just like the ability to take screenshots, screen recording has been built into iPhones and iPads for years, so there’s no need to download any extra apps. To activate this option, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Go to Control Center.
  3. If it’s not already there, tap on the green “+” next to Screen Recording.

Once you have completed this process, the screen recording option will be added to your Control Center.

Step 2: Start and stop recording

Now that we have the functionality at hand in our Control Center, here’s how to start and stop the screen recording:

  1. Open the Control Center on your iPhone or iPad by swiping down from the top right corner of the screen.
  2. Tap the newly added button to start the recording. It will display a circular REC button inside a circle. If you want to record audio, press and hold the recording button, and choose to enable or disable the microphone.
  3. Wait for the three-second countdown. During this time, you can exit the Control Center and go to what you want to record. The recording will start automatically and show a small red button at the top of the screen.
  4. To stop the recording, tap the red button and confirm by tapping “Stop.”

The recording will be automatically saved in the Photos app, and a notification will inform you of this, which you can tap to go directly to the recording.
