Saints Row IV official SDK released, now you can mod weapons

Developer Volition has released the first part of the Official SDK (software development kit) for Saints Row IV on PC, meaning modders are now free to go crazy making their own weapons for the over the top sandbox game. The Saints Row IV SDK A has tutorials, templates and tools for modifying weapons within the game.

This SDK allows you to play around with all of the weapons from Saints Row 3 and 4, while future releases should let you add new content, even as far as creating your own missions. Modding is already possible with Saints Row 4, but only with the release of this SDK can you play around with and alter the assets that are already in the game.

Volition made the SDK available with an example weapon mod, the ‘Damned Impaler‘, which you can see above.
