July is a very special month for Five Nights at Freddy’s fans. Today, July 25th, the long-awaited DLC for FNAF: Security Breach, “Ruin,” has been released. Apart from the new features, this new content comes with changes in gameplay, which, according to Ray McCaffrey, will differ greatly from what we have experienced in FNAF: Security Breach.
McCaffrey, the executive producer of FNAF, explained to the franchise fans that in Ruin, they had “moved away from the hide-and-seek mechanics” present in the base game. In this case, Ruin is more focused on “patience” and waiting for the right moment.
The producer goes on to describe Ruin as something “much darker, scarier, and more ominous […] given the ruined state of the Pizzplex, it will be claustrophobic and filled with the sensations that naturally (and unnaturally) emanate from an abandoned building. There are no large, well-lit areas where you can see well and avoid a threat in the distance.”
The Ruin DLC is currently available for PS4, PS5, and PC. However, Xbox and Nintendo Switch owners will have to wait a bit longer to enjoy this new content.
