God of War, the video game from PlayStation Studios developed by Santa Monica, is now available on PC without any kind of DRM that forces you to be online to play. This is thanks to GOG, which has just released the game on its platform, and it does so in a more than user-friendly format for PC users.
In addition, to celebrate its release on GOG, the game is currently 50% off on this gaming platform, making it a very attractive opportunity to enjoy the first installment of Kratos raiding the realms of Norse mythology, after his various installments harassing the Greek gods in the past.
God of War offline with GOG
GOG has already put God of War on sale on its website, and in addition to having an attractive launch offer, it also has the particularity that it does not have any DRM that checks if the user is online permanently. Furthermore, it also includes all the improvements added to the PC version, such as keyboard and mouse adaptation, compatibility with ultra-wide monitors, or the use of DLSS and FSR technologies.
God of War, on the other hand, was one of the most relevant video games of 2018. In fact, it won the Game of the Year award that same year, and the game was so acclaimed by both the public and critics that in 2022 its sequel was released and, although it didn’t win the award again, it became one of the standout games of its release year.
The “always online” and what it entails
Nowadays, in many cases, in the face of social and structural progress, we have not realized that more and more video games categorically require the user to be online to enjoy, not only the online services they may have, but also to have access to the games themselves. And although in most cases this may not be relevant, in exceptional or more residual cases, the experience can turn against you if you do not have access to the Internet due to geographical circumstances or infrastructure incidents.
In this way, therefore, GOG will allow players who want to play the 2018 release of God of War on PC to do so without the need to be connected to the network permanently. Obviously, it is also possible on PlayStation consoles, but now it can also be done through a computer.
