At last, after eight weeks filled with excitement, action, and adventures in the purest Star Wars style, Ahsoka has reached its grand finale. The last episode of the first season of the series has arrived, bringing with it dozens of open fronts that will soon be closed in George Lucas’s galactic universe.

As we have been pointing out throughout the entire season, there have been better and worse episodes that have turned Ahsoka into an uneven series but with a more than interesting plot, giving us very intriguing moments such as the return of Anakin Skywalker and Ezra Bridger, as well as the arrival of Grand Admiral Thrawn. But has Ahsoka lived up to the circumstances? Below, we analyze the best and the worst of the series to draw our own conclusions.

The best of Ahsoka

As we have been warning, Ahsoka has been a series that served us great doses of nostalgia for Star Wars fans. Firstly, and as it was evident, it brought back characters from The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. It did so effectively, allowing even the less avid fans the chance to get to know them.

In this case, the best can be summarized in two key characters: Ahsoka Tano herself and Sabine Wren. Regarding the former, we have witnessed her complete evolution into adulthood, where the Jedi reaches the peak of her maturity without forgetting her origins, portrayed wonderfully by Rosario Dawson.

“But it’s Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) who takes most of the spotlight. Ahsoka’s padawan steals the show on more than one occasion and displays a wonderful evolution throughout the series. She provides the viewer’s perspective and undergoes significant growth throughout the episodes, something that is truly appreciated as she has a very interesting story of overcoming challenges.

It’s in the characters where Ahsoka shines the most. Alongside them, there are very interesting villains like Baylan Skoll, Shin Hati, and Grand Admiral Thrawn, who are portrayed as significant threats even greater than Moff Gideon from The Mandalorian.

And, of course, we cannot forget the stellar appearances of Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi) and Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen), as emotional as they are necessary, adding depth to a series unparalleled in terms of cast and charisma.”

The worst of Ahsoka

All these characters make Ahsoka a highly recommended series for Star Wars fans. However, as we’ve been warning, it still feels like a sort of prologue to something much bigger. While it functions perfectly as a universe on its own, there’s a constant feeling of ‘there has to be something more,’ reminiscent of what happens in many Marvel Studios shows.

By the time Ahsoka kicks off, it’s ultimately too late, and the entire conclusion feels rushed and geared towards something we’ll see in the future. Therefore, yes, Ahsoka is a great series, but it still comes across as a supplement to what we might see in the future, which might deter a significant portion of the audience.
