Artificial Intelligence never ceases to amaze us. From ChatGPT with its great new features to Midjourney or Stable Diffusion with its great ability to create images, we keep coming across more and better tools of this kind. And its uses are many, but of course what it is being used for the most lately is to imagine things we thought impossible.
Imagining adaptations of The Lord of the Rings is a great way to exploit AI. We already saw it when we imagined a possible remake of the saga with current actors, but you can also go further with tests of drawings and/or animations. In this case, we go to the YouTube channel AI Generated Art to find something unusual: how The Lord of the Rings would look like if it had been adapted as an anime from the eighties.
All the characters of The Lord of the Rings imagined by AI
With a style halfway between Studio Ghibli and Dragon Ball, we see beautiful illustrations that barely seem to be created by Artificial Intelligence. As they explain from the channel, everything has been created through Midjourney, and the results are spectacular.
The characters that have been generated in the video are Frodo, Gandalf, Gollum, Sauron, Legolas, Gimli, Saruman, Witch-Kink, Galadriel, Elrond, Aragorn and Sam. The entire Ring community and other contributors join in this bucolic feast of AI imagination.

Undoubtedly, the possibilities offered by Midjourney and many other AI tools seem to be increasingly endless. In this case, it’s clear that it could even drive a new animated ESDLA movie, in case we haven’t had enough with Ralph Bakshi’s gem.
