Báñez was a well-known figure in flamenco fashion. It was common to see him at events such as the popular SIMOF. He became especially recognized among the public when he was part of the jury of the program “Quiero Ser”, broadcast on Divinity and presented by Sara Carbonero. Within the space there were faces as well known as Madame de Rosa or his close friend Dulceida, for example.

His talent as a couturier allowed him to establish close friendships with celebrities such as Eva González or Vicky Martin Berrocal. In fact, we have seen them more than once wearing Báñez’s creations on various occasions. He has also dressed important public figures such as the Duchess of Alba or Genoveva Casanova.

Cristo Báñez was born in Almonte on February 26, 1982. He showed a great interest in fashion (especially flamenco) since his early childhood. His environment was always involved in fabrics and patterns, something normal if we take into account that his mother Cristobalina was a dressmaker. The clear devotion he professed for the world of clothing led him to study design, where he already managed to point out ways.

The Almonte City Council has deeply regretted the death of Báñez. In a statement issued by the Consistory, highlights the work of the designer when claiming the municipality of Almonte: “has always carried the flag for the name of the town of Almonte, where he was also a town crier.
