Max has put all of their cards on the table with Game of Thrones and its spin-off series. As shown in the recent platform presentation, they have several pending spin-offs, both live-action and animated, for the future. And of course, adding to the formula House of the Dragon, a series that has just finished its second season.
But how many seasons are left of House of the Dragon? Although it was a mystery until now, Ryan Condal, the showrunner of the series, has announced that they already know when it will end. In a press conference on the occasion of the premiere of The Woman Who Should Reign, the last episode of its second season, Condal has explained how much longer the series will last.
The end of the second season brings something big
In total, The House of the Dragon will have four seasons. Condal believes that it will be enough to explain the entire history of the Targaryens war without dragging it out too much, and in this way they will be able to make way for other Westeros spin-offs. Rhaenyra’s story has already been told in two seasons, so there are two more to conclude her uprising. The third season is already in production, so it is expected, according to their usual schedule, to be seen in 2026.
