With Artificial Intelligence being a trendy element nowadays, YouTube has wanted to join the party, and it does so by launching a tool that allows users to create music through this technology that currently captures all the attention. Dream Track, thus, has been showcased by the Google-owned platform to reflect the changing world around Artificial Intelligence.
Creating music with AI on YouTube
As YouTube has publicly announced, the Dream Track tool is a system powered by Artificial Intelligence technology that allows users to design musical pieces. It is currently an experiment that will be included in the creation of YouTube Shorts to “invent” music based on the commands that the user enters into the system.
This is, thus, the umpteenth Artificial Intelligence-based tool that Google has shown in recent days, after presenting all kinds of innovations at the recent I/O event, which demonstrated the current importance of AI in the development of applications and services.
The controversy of Artificial Intelligence
This is a very curious and striking advance, but it also raises numerous dilemmas that make many people look at this novelty with skepticism. After all, this tool simulates human knowledge and intellectual abilities to carry out creations that, in general, usually have something to convey, and that essence, when there is such an intense use of Artificial Intelligence, dilutes inevitably.
In fact, there are many celebrities, especially those in the music industry, who have shown their public stance against this type of tools, since music generated by AI lacks the human value and intentionality of an author when creating their work. This is a much-discussed debate that has also affected generative AI for images or text, as they often perform functions that have other implicit ideas in a way that an Artificial Intelligence can never replicate.
