Greeting Card Makers for Personalised Designs

Update: Sep 7, 2026 · 170 apps reviewed

Greeting card makers turn photos, text and decorative elements into custom cards for birthdays, holidays, thank-you notes and special announcements. The best tools make layout work feel simple while still offering enough control over fonts, templates, stickers, borders and print-ready exports. Some are ideal for quick social sharing, while others focus on polished cards you can print at home or send professionally. When choosing one, look for template variety, image editing options, export quality and ease of use, especially if you want a card that feels personal rather than generic.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs) about this topic

Can I make printable greeting cards with these tools?

Yes, many greeting card makers support high-resolution exports suitable for home printing or professional print services. Look for PDF, PNG or other print-friendly formats and check whether the app preserves bleed and trim settings.

Do greeting card makers include ready-made templates?

Most do, and templates are one of the biggest time-savers in this category. Good tools offer layouts for birthdays, weddings, holidays and other occasions, with room to customise photos, colours and text.

Can I create greeting cards from my own photos?

Yes, photo-based cards are a core feature of this software category. The better tools let you crop, frame, add captions and adjust image placement so the final design feels balanced.

Are free greeting card makers good enough for casual use?

Free tools are often fine for personal cards, especially if you only need simple templates and basic editing. Just check whether exports are watermarked, limited in resolution or restricted to a small template library.
