Since winning the Oscar in 2016 with La La Land, it is clear that Emma Stone only chooses projects that can go well for her and, above all, projects in which she can have fun. This is the case with Poor Things, the film that seems to be a hit at next year’s Oscars, directed by the very peculiar director Yorgos Lanthimos. And it also seems to be the case with The Curse, the dark comedy that the actress has premiered on the streaming platform SkyShowtime.
Beyond bringing us series like Twin Peaks or The Offer, the VOD service launched this year is offering all kinds of original series. And one of the most anticipated is this comedy starring Emma Stone that has turned out to be a great success. Below, we leave you with the trailer for The Curse:
The Curse: Emma Stone’s darkest series
In The Curse, a supposed curse disrupts the relationship of a newly married couple as they try to conceive a child and co-star in their troubled new television show. The main characters are Emma Stone and Nathan Fielder, who we have seen in shows like The Disaster Artist or The Trials.

But the most curious thing is that the script is written, in addition to by Fielder himself, by another actor in the cast: Ben Safdie. And who is Safdie really? Nothing less than one of the directors of Uncut Gems, a great gem by Adam Sandler for Netflix, and other high-level cinematographic works such as Good Time, with Robert Pattinson.
The series, therefore, features all kinds of essential signatures for today’s cinema, so it is expected to deliver on its promises. It is undoubtedly a dark comedy of a very high level and for all types of audiences.
