Autodesk, the developer of Pixlr, a popular mobile and browser based photo editor, has released a desktop version for Windows and Mac. The starter edition is free, but you get additional tools if you sign up for a free account, and there’s also a paid ‘Pro’ membership which gives you even more features.
Pixlr is an easy to use Photoshop alternative. You can add filters and effects to your images as well as masks and overlays. It’s not as powerful as Adobe’s Photoshop, but for most people, Pixlr’s tools will be more than enough. A Pro Membership costs $1.00 per month, or $14.99 per year, which gives you all features and automatice updates in the future.
Pixlr Express, the mobile version, is available for iOS and Android devices, as well as in your browser.
