It’s not one of the most well-known, but it’s certainly a very good one. Star Wars: Dark Forces now has a set release date. Although the game was announced at the beginning of this year, 2023, we didn’t know the release date until now. Thanks to information released today, we now know it will be available on February 28, 2024.

Nightdive, the studio that is in charge of the remastering, has indicated that the game will support resolutions up to 4K and an image rate of 120 frames per second. Of course, this performance will depend on the platform where it is executed, but the limit will be just this to offer the best possible visual representation.

On the other hand, the studio has indicated that the graphics have been rendered in 3D for better visualization. They have also included support for current controllers, trophies, and achievements on consoles like PlayStation and Xbox, and much more that is yet to be announced (there is time until February, so we’ll have to wait).

Released in 1995 for PC, this first-person game was one of the best experiences the franchise had in the action game genre. In it, we play as Kyle Katarn, a mercenary for the Rebel Alliance who must take part in various missions to fight against the Empire. It’s not that the story is very surprising, indeed, but the gameplay it offers is interesting, especially in a time when such games were not abundant.

If you never had the opportunity to get your hands on it in the mid-1990s, now you will be able to do so with the best possible version.
