After numerous reports from players, Riot has had to act quickly and temporarily remove one of Valorant’s most popular maps. The specific map, Split, will no longer be accessible in the rotations of the Premier, Competitive, Spike Rush, and Swift Play modes. The reason? An exploit that could be exploited by cheaters.
As explained in ESTN, this error allowed agents to enter a forbidden and inaccessible area by normal methods. This site provided an unfair advantage to players, so to remedy it, Riot has decided to disable it as a preventive measure. Instead, Valorant has replaced it with the Ascent map to ensure that there are no cheats.
To make matters worse, this is not the only major bug discovered in Valorant recently. The other error affects the character Cypher, who displayed his Trap Wires on teammates’ minimaps, even after they were destroyed. According to Riot, both issues will be fixed in patch 8.08.
