It was a matter of time, but The Pokemon Company is coming for you.

Everyone knew this moment would come. Palworld has been a smashing success in sales and players on Steam for a week. Right now they have sold 7 million units and have over 2 million players connected at the same time (placing it as the 2nd highest peak in Steam history, behind PUBG with 3.3 million).
And it is that success that has made everyone notice that Palworld is too “inspired” by other games. The main inspiration, obvious, is Pokémon. How? Yes, we said it out loud. And Nintendo knows it.
The Pokemon Company has just officially announced that it has not granted any permission to “another company”, referring to Palworld, to use the Pokemon intellectual property and that it “intends to investigate and take appropriate measures” against the operator of the fast-growing survival game.
“Any resemblance is purely coincidental”
The statement is Pokemon Company’s first acknowledgement of the fast-growing survival title Palworld, which has sold over 7 million copies in less than six days.
But as we already reported, Palworld is attracting a growing number of fans of the legendary Japanese company due to the perceived plagiarism and its astonishing resemblance. However, its fusion of monster collecting mechanics, automation, and survival/crafting has deeply resonated with players.
Whether out of genuine interest or a desire to punish Nintendo, the main distributor of Pokémon games, for their stagnation, players have flocked to Palworld for its new vision.
Pocketpair, which released the title on January 19, previously insisted that their game resembled more of a title like Ark Survival than Pokémon. Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe warned earlier this week that his team was receiving defamatory comments and also seeing tweets that appeared to be “death threats”.
