Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile has been released today, March 21st, worldwide on March 21st, following a limited release last year. The free game is available on iOS and Android, with the Verdansk and Rebirth Island maps and shared progression with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone on PC and consoles.
Shared progression means that you can earn XP on mobile, which will contribute to your player level and your battle pass on mobile, PC, and console. There is also shared weapon level progression, so you can work on weapon XP while going to work or to university.
The first images of the preliminary version of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile show that it is not a typical mobile game (that’s why it took so long to launch). The level of detail and performance is comparable to the console versions of Call of Duty.
What does CoD: Warzone Mobile offer to players
As we mentioned, the Verdansk map for 120 players will be available in Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, including the Verdansk Gulag, where you will have to eliminate a rival player to redeploy in the game if you have been eliminated.
The Rebirth Island is also available for 48 players, with Resurgence rules so you can respawn freely as long as one of your teammates is still alive.
You can also access other multiplayer maps in Call of Duty, such as Shipment, Scrapyard, and Shoot House, with game modes like Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, and Domination, among others.
Activision has also added a series of customizations for the mobile experience, as well as controller compatibility if you want to avoid on-screen controls. You can also adjust the HUD and virtual joysticks, and there are even performance or graphics modes like in a console game.
Activision has spent the past year fixing bugs, improving the game and gathering feedback on Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile during a limited release phase in countries such as Australia, Chile, Norway, Sweden, Germany, and Malaysia.
Since Call of Duty: Mobile was one of the biggest mobile launches in history, with 100 million downloads, Warzone Mobile could be another big success for Activision. 50 million players had pre-registered to download Warzone Mobile a month ago.
Call of Duty: Mobile vs Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile
As we mentioned, Activision has released today the highly anticipated first-person shooter game Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. It is available for both Android and iOS and comes four years after the studio released the original Warzone.
The new game requires approximately 8 GB and 10 GB of free space on Android and iOS respectively, so make sure you have enough free space before playing. However, the game may need more storage as developers add new content.
Unlike Call of Duty: Mobile, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is cross-progression compatible, which means you can connect your existing COD account to unlock in-game rewards across all platforms. Additionally, all your weapons, blueprints, skins, cosmetics, friend lists, chat channels, and even Battle Pass progression will sync across PC, console, and mobile.
And this point is very important, since Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile does not replace Call Of Duty: Mobile, but it is a very different game, which aims to align more closely with Warzone and the annual multiplayer release of Call Of Duty.
Activision’s goal with this release is to have the same console and PC products (which are their main economic engine) also available on mobile, thus reaching hundreds of millions of new players.
