TextSpeechPro reads any kind of document aloud and includes AT&T Natural Voices. It also has an integrated internet browser that allows the software to read any web page straight from its interface.
by Alice Cui
Easy to install and to use. Their tech support department is highly responsive. It also has pretty accurate functioning, i love it!
by Jacob Perry
This product only tells me that it is compatible with windows xp which makes me concerned whether it will work with windows 10. I would prefer a free trial to see how it works before I pay $60 for it. It seems very good but it also seems very outdated. I would just like to try it before I put that much money into it. More
by Carlos Alberto Bautista
This software is pretty great. Of course the speech doesn't sound that natural, but that's just the state of the tech now. This particular software does a lot better job than just about any I've ever heard. More
by Muhammad Bose
It looks like a reasonable product. The question will be, does it sound very robotic and choppy or does it actually sound like a person speaking?

Text2Speech is a free text to speech utility. This software can help you read text with over 10 voices, Text2Speech supports non-English languages in OS X Lion.

The voice packs are pretty good, and the pronunciation is good too. The only real problem is the voices tend to speak a little too quickly when they come to commas and periods, so if you're using it to read a long passage it can get a little confusing. More

by Jordan Hayes
If you need to listen any kidn of document this app is the perfect tool

Zabaware also comes in a free version that offers generic voices, but the paid option provides high-quality CereProc and AT&T Natural Voices. Text can be converted into wav audio files, which you can transfer to any portable device.
by Robert Stone
Zabaware is a free utility which reads text from your screen. It works well and makes computer use much more functional for people with vision issues. Although the included voices work fine there is an option to purchase more natural sounding voices which I would recommend getting. More

by Bobby Simpson
It's not the most amazing one out there, but this will do the job for plenty of people. That being said I say download the free trial and give it a go. Learn for yourself if this will make you happy or not, before you purchase it for 30. More
NaturalReader comes in several versions, including a free one that converts Microsoft Word documents, PDF files, and emails into spoken words. The paid version offers more features and voices and is more suitable for eLearning and online training.

Though the voices can be a little mechanical, NaturalReader's text to speech cadence flows well, no awkward pauses. I like how many choices of voice and accents are available and that you can choose different speeds - I sometimes put dialogue that I've written in to hear if it flows smoothly. It's a simple and easy to use test to speak program that that's free, but I appreciate that I can get more features if I want to pay for them. More
by Sandra Keller

by Jesse Tucker
I played with the interface for a bit and changed out the voices. The default text seemed to sound a little more natural than any sentences that I typed in. While the text was spoken and was easily understood, it still sounded like typical computer generated speech to me. I do feel that this would be very useful for those that needed this type of software for reading text. More

The the best site for info on this topic. But it is a place to start.
The Virtual Speaker software is multilingual, allows easy integration, and has the availability of voices in several sampling frequencies and qualities. Moreover, the sound files are especially easy to access from any authoring tool you are using.
by Sean Hansen
If you have every tried the built in text to speech software on your computer you know how frustrating listening to it can be. There are a few more pleasant sounding text to speech apps out there, but short of speaking everything yourself and uploading it to your own website there was no easy solution to this problem. That is until I can across Acapela Group Virtual Speaker. They offer a wide variety of voice variants with options for extra emotion as well as a whole host of different languages. Now I can give all my clients a text to speech option that makes it much easier for them to stay updated on my post on the go. More

This program is amazing, it works so well and I am well on my way to changing my training and getting better employees because of it! More
by Charles Wells
iSpeech website is a hit or miss, even though the try it out feature is good, it doesn't work on most of my trials. The pricing is also steep for a synthetic voice text to speech service. I would rather hire a voice actor. More

AudioBookMaker is a software that converts text to audio quickly and includes adjustable speech parameters. It also has a multilingual interface and "remembers" each document settings between reading sessions.
by Kyle Richardson
AudioBookMaker is probably one of the best free text to speech software's that you will ever find. I absolutely love that they have a selection of voices that you can choose from and that you can also switch to different languages. The thing that bothers me the most about text to speech software is the monotone voice that you get from it. But AudioBookMaker actually has a built in monotone voice reduction that really works! I will never use another text to speech software again. More
by Mark Carroll
I am very pleased with the services that AudioBookMaker provide. The Text to Speech software they offer is amazing and I am satisfied with the high quality results, it's definitely one of the best software I used so far. There are also excellent features and benefits that comes along with the text to speech software. More
by Phillip Parker
I feel like we haven't perfected human synthesized voice, and although we're pretty near, text to speech software is just not something I would use to listen to anything. Audiobooks are amazing if it was read by a voice actor or the original author, nothing compares. We need more voice talents covering news articles online for people who want to listen, not read. More
by Gregory Franklin
I was looking for a text to speech software, which would could perform speech following as well as I could customize single words per pronunciations. I like AudioBookMaker for this. It also allows for imports from MS Word documents and supports multiple format like *.WAV, *.MP3. It being a freeware is a plus too. More

When driving I need an app to help read my emails and text. I could not find anything that worked properly. Text Aloud came along and converted everything I needed read to an MP3 file so that I could reference in later or save it on my computer. This was a great tool I find useful every day. More
by Mark Walters
Text Aloud appears to be a decent solution for turning text into speech. However, though it isn't free, it also isn't expensive. As I said previously, it is a decent solution. More
by Juan Willis
This is perfect for those with hearing impairments or other things. I think its great what it does.
TextAloud 3 is a text to speech software created by NextUp. It offers a huge list of voices in different accents and more than 29 languages from major voice publishers, including AT&T Natural Voices, Acapela Group, and Ivona.
by Philip Little
I've tried other text to speech software, but TextAloud 3 is one that works with so many of the different formats I use on my Windows machines. The voices can be a little robotic, but I can customize them so easily to your preferences. The software is pretty inexpensive for what I got (the tutorials available on the website showed me all of the capabilities). More

by Lawrence Banks
CereProc makes very professional text to speech software that's suitable for consumers looking for a high-end product and for businesses alike. Voicepaper is a Text To Speech Voice reader for Dropbox and Evernote. With Voicepaper, you can listen to txt.file, while you are walking, exercising, or doing your daily work. Your commuting or medial tasks can be more productive, and enjoyable.
by Jessica Bennett
The best this about Voicepaper is how easy it is to use. I personally to read, but it is nice to be able to mash a few buttons and hear an article, and not worry about running into anyone while I am walking. The interface is intuitive, it can be used for a few minutes before purchase, and the voice is not, well, it doesn't sound like Roz from Monsters, Inc. (But I might enjoy if that was possible sometimes!). For the number of channel options and the overall price (around nine dollars), I like it. I give it two thumbs up for anyone who might walk or run and likes articles over music. More
by Donald Rose
I absolutely despise this app. Its not very well thought out and the developer failed to think about it from a user perspective. Steer clear of this atrocious app. Siri is better. More
by Pranav Chattopadhyay
A good idea on paper but often makes mistakes. Very inaccurate in its reading. If you can look past that it is ok.
by Howard Ortiz
Voicepaper really nails down the text to speech software. It sounds really natural when it is reading text to you. It doesn't have the normal robotic sound that other software has. It is really impressive that you can use it for Dropbox along with just importing a regular text file to it. The voice that reads back to you is calming and it really sounds like a person reading text to you. More
by Walter Ortega
This is an ok app that lets you convert voice to text if you use Dropbox for dictation purposes. I dont and I do not know many people that do; but I believe that for those that do this could be handy. More
