As announced during the unveiling event of the iPhone 15 and iOS 17, Apple has added the option to subscribe to more space on iCloud+. We’re talking about the new 6TB option and the massive 12TB option. This should be sufficient to comfortably store thousands of photos, videos, and other content.
The new plans are added to the existing offerings of 50GB, 200GB, and 2TB, providing even more storage options for Apple users. Let’s talk about prices, subscription options, and, most importantly, how these options fit into Apple One plans.
Prices and proposals for the new plans.
The 6TB plan costs 29.99 euros per month. Apple suggests that this plan is ideal for photographers and content creators. These professionals often deal with large volumes of files and data that require secure and easily accessible storage. With 6TB of space, you have the capacity to store a vast number of high-resolution photos, 4K videos, and other heavy files.
On the other hand, the 12TB plan is priced at 59.99 euros per month. Apple has described it as being targeted at “power users.” It’s clear that this option is for those who not only handle large amounts of data for professional reasons but may also need it for personal projects, research, or even small businesses in need of a straightforward storage solution.
How the new plans fit into Apple One
Apple One, the bundle that allows you to subscribe to multiple Apple services at a lower price, still includes the usual storage spaces: 50GB included with the personal plan, 200GB with the family plan, and 2TB with the premium plan. From each of these plans, you can add iCloud storage with the new plans.
In other words, you can have a maximum of 14TB of iCloud storage —2 from Apple One and 12 from iCloud+—, while you can create other combinations as well. For example, 4TB with the premium plan and an additional 2TB, or a family plan with 6200GB —200GB included and 6TB from iCloud+—, and so on.
There are many combinations available, and you can easily tailor them to your needs. One of the most attractive features of these plans is the ability to share the space with family members. This allows different users to take advantage of this expanded storage while, of course, each member has their own photos, videos, documents, and more.
Apple’s decision to expand the iCloud+ storage plans is a clear response to the growing needs for cloud storage that we encounter. With the creation and consumption of content constantly on the rise, having flexible and robust storage options becomes essential. With the new 6TB and 12TB plans, the offering becomes even more enticing for those of us who seek the best in technology and storage.
