As good as the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro were, the truth is that they already have several months behind them. Leaks of the iPhone 15 do not stop and although we still have to wait, it is normal for Apple to announce its new model in autumn. Or what is the same: we still have many months of rumors ahead of us.

In this article we have compiled the information we currently have about the iPhone 15 and all the speculation that it could bring.

The iPhone 15: Revolutionary Changes You Can’t Afford to Miss!

Design of the iPhone 15

One of the areas in which it seems that the iPhone 15 will stand out this year is its design. Last year, the release of the iPhone 14 was a big disappointment for many consumers due to its excessively continuist appearance. Apple does not plan to invent the wheel with the iPhone 15, but rumors suggest that we will again see a more rounded design, in the style of the iPhone 11.

Other leaks tell us that we will see even thinner bezels than in previous iPhones. This rumor has gained even more traction recently thanks to ShrimApplePro. The insider posted a short video on Twitter showing what the front panel of the iPhone 15 would look like.

The video also seems to claim that we will see the Dynamic Island on all iPhone 15 models. Apple introduced this new feature on the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max and it is a version of the notch but in the form of a pill. What at first might seem like an insignificant change, Apple presented it as a new way to interact with notifications and apps.

As for its final design, weeks ago we were able to get a glimpse of what the iPhone 15 Pro could look like according to a CAD model obtained by a case factory. With these renders, it is finally confirmed that the iPhone 15 will include a USB-C port replacing Lightning. This move by Apple responds to the new European laws that state that all portable devices must incorporate USB-C before 2026.

Its camera will also feature numerous improvements: the lens module will be even larger than on the iPhone 14 Pro, so expect to see a big jump in photo quality.

Other leaks also suggest that the iPhone 15 will lack physical buttons. Instead, what we would have would be haptic buttons. To give you an idea, it would work similarly to the Home button found on the iPhone SE today. Haptic sensors use a small vibration to mimic a physical button press.

The media outlet 9to5Mac gave veracity to these rumors in its latest March publication and specified that the “iPhone 15 Pro would replace the physical volume buttons with a new unified one.”

Available iPhone 15 models

One thing that many consumers had to regret was the elimination of the Mini model in the iPhone 14 lineup. Instead, Apple decided to replace it with the Plus variant, a version that was the same size as the Pro Max but with the features of the iPhone 14. However, sales of the iPhone 14 Plus would have been “disappointing,” in Apple’s words.

Beyond everything and if we take into account the iPhones that came out last year, the future iPhone 15 lineup could look like this:

  • iPhone 15
  • iPhone 15 Plus
  • iPhone 15 Pro
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max

According to Mark Gurman, Apple may be thinking of replacing the iPhone Pro Max with an Ultra model (as with the Apple Watch).

What features will the iPhone 15 have?

As far as we know at the moment, the future iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will integrate the new A17 Bionic chip while the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will continue with the A16 Bionic (same chip as the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max). This chip will be manufactured with a 3 nm (nanometer) process, which could offer up to 35% more energy efficiency.

As we mentioned a few paragraphs above, all iPhone 15s will incorporate USB-C. However, there will be several differences between the models. The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max will support high-speed data transfer, while the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will continue with the same speed as USB 2.0 (the same as Lightning). Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known Apple-sphere analyst, claims that the iPhone 15 Pro will support USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3 speeds.

However, here Apple has been at it again. Leaker ShrimApplePro wrote that the entire iPhone 15 lineup will only be officially compatible with USB-C accessories that are MFi (Made For iPhone) certified.

There are also numerous rumors that talk about the new camera that will be on the iPhone 15. One of the features that we will see only on the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the advanced optical zoom with periscopic lens. This technology will greatly increase the optical zoom capabilities of Apple’s device.

If we continue with the camera, the iPhone 15 Pro will also “premiere” another component: a new LiDAR sensor. While this sensor has been present in the Apple family since the iPad Pro, now Minch-Chi Kuo claimed last month that Sony could replace the manufacturers of such a component. This would increase its efficiency and power compared to the previous sensor.

iPhone 15 Pricing

As you can imagine, buying an iPhone 15 will not be exactly cheap. This year we already saw how Apple increased the price of its terminals in a more or less justified way and it seems that this year they will repeat the move. However, it seems that TSMC could be largely to blame. The factory is responsible for building the new A17 Bionic chips that the iPhone 15 Pro will have, a process that has not been cheap. According to a report from Digitimes, TSMC has doubled the production cost of the 3nm chips, which will impact the final price of Apple’s flagship.
