Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is the sequel to Into the Spider-Verse, the movie that revolutionized animation in 2018 with a technique that has since been followed by productions from Arcane to the latest Puss in Boots film. It was a massive success at the box office and quickly became a hit on Netflix, the platform that secured its rights.

Now, the second movie is hitting theaters and it looks like it will have the same success as the first one, both at the box office and presumably with critics as well. But what about its arrival on Netflix and/or other streaming platforms? When will it be available for streaming?

Release date for Spider-Man: Crossing the Multiverse on Netflix and other platforms

To estimate when Across the Spider-Verse will arrive on Netflix, it’s best to look at what happened with the first installment. Into the Spider-Verse premiered on Netflix six months after its official release, on June 26, 2019, considering that its theatrical release was on December 14, 2018.

Based on this, we could expect a similar timeline. Since the film is not directly owned by a studio like Warner or Disney, but rather by Sony, we can’t expect it to arrive on streaming platforms as quickly as two or three months, which is a common practice. However, we might not have to wait much longer either.

Indeed, before its arrival on Netflix, Across the Spider-Verse might become available for rental or purchase on various platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, or Rakuten TV. And if it follows the path of the previous film, it will likely be available on Movistar Plus as well, a Spanish platform where it could be included for free, similar to Netflix.
