The Mandalorian is about to premiere its third season. The series starring Pedro Pascal that made Baby Yoda -later renamed Grogu- fashionable is back after almost three years of absence, and fans couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come.

Over the past few years, several more Star Wars series have been released, many of them initiated by the events of The Mandalorian itself, but the series has now taken on a new perspective and its narrative seems to be growing.

But how many seasons will we be able to continue watching the adventures of Grogu and Mando? For now, we know that The Mandalorian has been renewed for a season 4, so the next batch of eight episodes won’t be the last. And… beyond that?

Beyond Season 4

In an interview for Games Radar, Jon Favreau, the showrunner of the fiction along with Dave Filoni, has revealed that we still have a lot to see from The Mandalorian. If the audience figures go along with it, it seems that the story of this mercenary will continue to expand over the next few years:

“I think the beauty of it [season 4] is that it’s a middle chapter of a much larger story. And, while the characters will have their denouement eventually, they haven’t reached their end yet. Quite the opposite, I love that these stories go on and on.”

Undoubtedly, the fact that The Mandalorian series is conceived as a kind of chapter role-playing game helps them to continue expanding the Star Wars universe for years to come. As long as it is complemented by as many spin-offs and series, the fiction will continue to move forward.

It seems that season 3 will open a plot that will continue in season 4 and even in a fifth season. So we can only wait for the chapters to be released on Disney+.
