Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has earned its place as one of the most beloved games by Star Wars fans. The announcement of its remake in 2021 was met with great enthusiasm by the community, but since then, we have barely received any updates on its progress. Fortunately, we finally have some news about the game.

Mathew Karch, CEO of Saber Interactive, has confirmed that the remake of Knights of the Old Republic is “alive and kicking”. His statements have been collected in an interview conducted by IGN, where he affirms that the development is still active: “it is clear and obvious that we are working on it […] what I will say is that the game is active and that we are committed to exceeding players’ expectations.”

Although he didn’t give any further details, Karch’s words have been a balm for all those eagerly awaiting the release of the KOTOR remake. The truth is that the game has gone through a long journey since its announcement in 2021. After three years at Aspyr Media, the remake was indefinitely paused due to an evident lack of progress. After this, Saber Interactive took over development and little else was known about KOTOR, until now.

Regarding a possible release date, there is no news or expectations, at least in the short term. However, rumors indicate that the game could be released in 2025. Currently, Saber Interactive has several games in the works, such as Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II and a new installment of Painkiller.
